Acrylic
(Wednesdays at 4:00PM; Fridays at 4:00PM)
Acrylic paint is a water-based and fast-drying paint. The application of acrylic paint is like watercolor paint as both paints are water-based. Acrylics can bond to many different surfaces, like canvas, linen, cardboard, wood board, and other hard media such as rocks. The pros of acrylic paint are it is vibrant, it dries quickly – this allows you to finish your project faster and in a less messy manner, it is less toxic and safer around children, and it is durable – it won’t crack, peel, or turn yellow. Depending on how much the paint is diluted with water, or modified with acrylic gels, mediums, or pastes, the finished acrylic painting can resemble a watercolor, a gouache, or an oil painting, or have its own unique characteristics not attainable with other media.
